1. Product Description
MGLJ-800V communications server plays an important role in the electric automation. It
links between the main station and other equipment. In addition to sending various instructions
from main station to equipments, it sends various signals that collected by equipments to main
station. Meanwhile communications server acts as a protocol transformer. It can communicate
under various communication protocols like IEC870-5 catena,SC-1801,Buban CDT,101,103,
104,MODBUS etc. Protocol libraries are dynamically loaded when needed, as it is independent
with the main program. So it is easy to add or remove a protocol library according to the project.
Various interfaces are supported such as 10/100M auto adaptive Ethernet, RS232, RS485, CAN
BUS etc. Thanks to the widely supported interfaces, the communications server can be connected
to Internet, SACDA system, DCS system and GIS system etc.
MGLJ-800V communications server is constructed with an ARM processor running at
200MHz, it is facilitated with 10 RS485 interfaces (6 of which can be set as RS232), 2 CAN
interfaces, 4 Ethernet connectors. It works stable, acts fast and is easy for maintenance. Internal
anti-jamming measures and a variety of power isolation measures are used. Optimized circuit
board is used to ensure that interference and lightning will not damage it, and ensure the normal
operation of the server.
The Linux operating system in MGLJ-800V communications server supports multi tasks in
real time and multi-threaded operations. It runs and processes fast and efficiently. Thanks to the
Linux operating system, the switching time slice between tasks is far less than 10ms which is on
the Windows system.
MGLJ-800V communications server program is designed as modules. This provides the most
stability and is easy to upgrade and has the most flexibilities. Commissioning staff or users can
easily modify system configuration through network or debug interface.

4.2. Wiring Method
4.2.1. Wiring of COM1~COM4
Default baud rate is 9600bps. The maximum Communications server Other equipment
COM1~COM4
transmission distance could reach 1219m using
shielded twisted pair wire. But for the sake of A A
B B
reliable, generally when communications on
longer than 1000m, optical fiber should be used.

The maximum transmission distance depends on
H H
the baud rate used. It can reach 10000m using
GND GND
shielded twisted pair wire. At the default baud rate of
40kbps, the maximum transmission distance is Fig.4-10 CAN wiring
2000m. At the maximum baud rate of 1Mbps, the
maximum transmission distance is 40m. At baud rate of 5kbps, the maximum transmission
distance is 10000m。
4.2.6. Ethernet wiring TXD+ 1 5
TX+ NC
Standard Ethernet is provided through RJ45 TXD- 2 6 RXD-
TX- RX-
sockets. They may be connected to routers or hubs by RXD+ 3 7
RX+ NC
standard Ethernet cables or connected to computers 4 8NC NC
and etc by crossing cables.
